Iran Green Film Festival announces winners

The 6th edition of the International Green Film Festival has announced the winners of different sections.

The jury of the sixth edition of the Green Film Festival announced the winners of various sections during the closing ceremony held on September 15, 2017, in Tehran.

The best long and short documentary awards went to ‘Plastic China’ from China and ‘Where Are We Going?’ from Iran, respectively.

The best long and short feature awards were presented to Iran’s ‘Leaf of Life’ by Ebrahim Mokhtari and ‘Animal’ by Bahman and Bahram Ark from Iran, respectively.

‘Poets of Life’ by Shirin Barqnavard from Iran grabbed the best national documentary award, while ‘We Can’ by Reza Yar-Khalaji received the award for the best experimental film.

The best animation award went to ‘I + He/She’ by Joseph Oxford from the US.

Works from Iran, China, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Colombia, Mexico, Spain, the US and Italy have been nominated to compete at the final stage of the event.

The event's 2017 edition was aimed at highlighting sustainable tourism in line with the UN’s World Tourism Organization that has named 2017 as the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development.

As Iran’s sole environmental event on motion pictures, the fest was founded in 1999.

The 6th edition of the International Green Film Festival was held on September 9-15, 2017, simultaneously in Tehran and some other Iranian cities.
